Terms of Service

Effective: October 17, 2026

By using Unbury, you agree to these terms. We provide an AI-powered email categorization service using metadata only. Your data is encrypted with per-user keys. You are responsible for your account. We limit our liability. You can cancel anytime.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Unbury, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Unbury is an email management assistant that connects to your Gmail account to automatically categorize incoming emails. The Service uses artificial intelligence to analyze email metadata (sender, subject line, date) for classification. No email body content is read or stored.

3. Account Registration

You must have a valid Gmail account, authorize access via OAuth, provide accurate information, be at least 13 years old, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all account activity.

4. Google API Usage

We use Google Gmail API to read email headers, create and apply labels, and receive push notifications. Our use adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

5. AI and Automated Processing

The Service uses artificial intelligence to classify emails based on metadata (sender, subject line, date, and similar headers). No email body content, attachment contents or names, or previews are analyzed. How AI is used, and which providers process data, is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service illegally, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the Service, reverse engineer our software, send spam, share credentials, or use automated access without permission.

7. Subscription and Payment

New accounts receive a free trial with full feature access. After the trial period, a paid subscription is required to continue using the Service. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Cancel anytime through account settings; cancellation is effective at billing period end. We may change prices with 30 days notice.

8. Data Security and Retention

All stored data is encrypted using per-user encryption keys (AES-GCM). Upon account deletion, your encryption keys are destroyed (cryptoshredding), permanently rendering your email-derived data unreadable. Encryption keys are rotated every 90 days. Classification metadata is retained for 90 days. We keep a security audit record of automated decisions and account changes with all account identifiers removed, and retain consent and billing records where law requires. If you never connect a mailbox and your trial ends, we delete your account after six months of inactivity, and we email you before we do.

9. Community Learning

Community learning is off unless you turn it on in your account settings. If you do, your classification corrections may help categorize mail for other users. Only a one-way hash of the sender address and your chosen category are shared, and only after several users have independently agreed. You may turn it off at any time without affecting your use of the Service.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, design, and code are owned by Leverage Works Studios LLC. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Service. You retain ownership of your email content and data.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Email classification is automated and may not always be accurate.

12. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding any claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Leverage Works Studios LLC from claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time. You may end your account at any time by deleting it in Settings > Profile & Security; your data is then handled as our Privacy Policy describes, and your encryption keys are destroyed. Disconnecting a mailbox only stops Unbury from working on that mailbox.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Delaware law. Disputes shall be resolved in Delaware courts.
